LatticeChia, vermiculite, nylon. 12 x 198 x 260" Lattice is an undulating soft sculpture that stretches throughout the gallery creating a green space that speaks to contemporary re-imaginings of hard and soft, drawing and sculpture, space and time, fragility and regeneration. Here, each soft grey tube will slowly turn green and generate an event in the growing of textures, shadows, and smells. The ephemeral life cycle of these living organic elements echoes the reality of our own vulnerability. | Lattice detail | Portable Wheat Field (mature) 2009Red winter wheat, burlap, vermiculite |

Agritecture
Agritecture is the fusion of crop growth and indoor space. Whimsically functional yet serious hydroponic plant growth systems begin simply and then evolve and adapt to new situations. I see art making a collaborative event, empowering the community while promoting the message that we be more accountable in our use of natural resources.
